On Thursday, April 24, 2025, the 16th Leiden IIASL International Air Law Conference was held with great success at the “Drakopoulos” Amphitheatre of the main building of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). Each year, the International Conference precedes the Leiden-Sarin International Air Law Moot Court Competition and covers current topics in Air Law.
This year, the School of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is hosting the World Finals of the 16th International Air Law Moot Court Competition “Leiden - Sarin” on its premises.
The Conference was opened with welcoming remarks by:
• the Dean of the School of Law, Professor Konstantinos Christodoulou,
• the Director of Athens PIL, Professor Fotini Pazartzis,
• the Governor of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Christos Tsitouras, and
• Professor Steven Truxal, expert in Air and Space Law and Director of the Institute of Air and Space Law at Leiden University.
The concluding remarks of the Conference were delivered by Professor Steven Truxal and Associate Professor of International Law Georgios Kyriakopoulos, Vice Dean of the School of Law at NKUA.
The Conference was a great success, attended by a large number of Greek and international students, professors from the School of Law of NKUA and law schools abroad, as well as the student teams who are in Athens to participate in the aforementioned moot court competition.
